Light Painting
Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster 1963
Photographed in the Staud Studios Leonberg, 2008
Light painting, painting with light, light drawing or light art performance photography are terms that describe photographic techniques in which a light source is moved while taking a long exposure. Either to illuminate a subject or a room or to expose the film in order to „draw“ with light. This technique has been practised since the 1880s and is used for both scientific and artistic purposes and in commercial photography. So why not try out this technique on a very special object, a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster from 1957.
